Weekly Photo Challenge – Growth

Hey all,

Here is my submission for the weekly photo challenge – growth.

Massive he is standing deserted

Abandoned when years passed

Several seasons he encountered

Marked by wrinkles over his skin

Stages of growth he had strolled

Branched and rebranched in time

He was a shelter for all in need

A massive giant and king one day

Time extracted everything he had

Now passing life counting his days

Into the light…

The way is in front of my eyes

Gleaming with streaks of hope

Shadows engulfing from behind

Implying the darkest past I fared

I ran to the end of twisted road

Gasping for breath and panting

Heart beating at an alarming pace

Ready to collapse at any moment

I ran and ran as fast as I can

I could feel the warmth again in life

Shoving off all my fear and doubt

A whole new world opened for me

Beautiful and bright as heaven

All I could feel is your intense love!

Weekly photo challenge!

I have been going through my gallery searching for a meaningful photo to submit for this week’s photo challenge and got stuck into this capture.

All those who search for the hidden meaning inside this image, I would like to suggest you to read the following poem!

They stood there divided by the river

Struggling hard to be together

Stretching its branches in full length

Leaning towards to feel the touch

Still they feel they are one soul

With the bridge connecting them

Villains are there in all love stories

Here river turned to be one

Still they waited days and months

For that precious moment to come

When their soul and body be one

And remain together forever…

Scotland of India – Coorg

Hey friends,

After a long break, here I am back with a breathtaking vacation spot which is known as Scotland of India – Coorg. Coorg or Kodagu is a district in Karnataka, India which is known for its natural beauty comprising of beautiful misty hills, acres of coffee plantations, countless streams and lakes, thick forests and magnificent waterfalls.

My search for a peaceful yet beautiful place to explore which contain all essence of Coorg led me to Coffee cadu estate and Mandalpatti hills.

Coffee Cadu estate stay , Madikeri.

These exotic cottages are located 10 km from Madikeri town in the middle of coffee plantation. I reached Coffee Cadu in the afternoon. After check in formalities and lunch, at 3 pm we started for Mandalpatti hills.

The  lush green Mandalpatti hills are situated 18 km from Madikeri town, at an altitude of 4050 ft and is part of Pushpagiri reserve forest. Only way to reach uphill is by 4 Wheel Drive vehicles. You can hire a bike or can opt trekking too. We hired a Jeep. The drive was bumpy throughout but the effect was nullified by the breathtaking view on either side of the road.

Mandalpatti is a full-course meal. The magnificent view of the Pushpagiri mountain range along with cool breeze and fog took me to a different world. I dont remember how long I sat there embracing the scenic beauty. I waited till sunset and once the light started fading, the day giving its way to night, I started back to my cottage.

By the time I reached back there was a bonfire awaiting and it was quite a blessing to sit by the fire in that chilled night.IMG_1775

Early morning, I went for a walk through the coffee plantation and was undoubtedly reviving. The whole area was covered with coffee plants with deep red fruits (coffee bean) with orange trees planted in between. Pleasantly cold climate with gentle breeze and mild fog made the walk a memorable experience.

Spending some more time exploring the coffee plantation, I went back to the cottage to pack my stuff and have breakfast as it was time to for me to checkout and wind up my small trip.

Theory of life!!!

Entrusting my life on tiny threads

Which are already breaking apart

Wait is long, hunger is strong

All I crave for is a prey in my web

All I can see is darkness ahead

With subtle movements beneath

Waiting to swallow me whole

Trying to figure out my feelings

Fear, hunger, anger or failure

Hope is fading away with time

A home fully ready to collapse

To push me into the deep hole

What awaits there; life or death

Can be answered only by time

I stood there unable to figure out

What exactly is the theory of life!

Windows of nature…

Its always known that there will be a light in the end of a dark tunnel. Though it is a very simple sentence, it projects the message of hope in the journey of life. The darkness of hardships and the light of accomplishments.

This is a well known fact of life. Am I being too philosophical? Though that is not my intention this view made me think philosophically. The sea is still bright and full of light while everything on the shore was engulfed in darkness.

Standing on the shore and watching sea through the coconut tress, I felt as if I am gazing at brighter side of life through a huge window standing in dark. Every sorrows and instances which I went through in my life came gushing into my mind. It reminded me of how I used to sit near my windows looking outside expecting the dark clouds to move away and lit my life with a new sunrise.

Gazing afar I stand here alone

Exploring shades of dawn and dusk

With the little waves talking to me

and clouds watching from above

Scattered clouds,rumbling waves

Breaking the silence of nature

Washing away the sins of mind

To the brighter start of a new day

Weekly photo challenge – Experimental

Hey friends

Here is my submission for this week’s photo challenge!

You might be wondering what a bunch of flowers have to do with this week’s theme ‘experimental’. Let me explain.

I bought my new Iphone 7 plus last May. The only reason I chose 7 plus over others is because of its added camera option of dual lens. The portait mode in this phone gained lot of popularity within few days of its launch.

When I got my phone I was so excited to try the portrait option and was searching for something to click. I was at home and I saw this beautiful bright bunch of flowers standing there. I felt it was talking to me. It was asking me “don’t you feel that I am good enough for your experiment”!

I went near the flowers and adjusted the camera to get the depth effect and then the perfect capture and thus a beautiful portrait image was saved into my gallery.

When the heart bleeds for thy love

to wipe away the tears of loneliness

Searching for the long lost love

Reminding of the days cherished

Memories are the only remains

Feelings are washed away by ocean

Leaving a deep scar in the heart

Swimming in the depth of darkness

Searching for the glimpse of light

Hope is fading away with time

Still I am living holding myself tight…

Weekly Photo Challenge – Rounded

Hey friends,

Here is my entry towards the Weekly Photo Challenge – Rounded

As always I am here with a capture from nature. If you look around you carefully, you can see numerous God created curves and rounds like perfectly shaped trees, curved mountains, the cluster of clouds in the sky and much more.

Though I had many captures of curved roads and other manmade structures, I made my mind to present this before you as I won’t be satisfied from within if I take one of those.

Standing on the hilltop where I grew

Looking down at the life below

The world beneath is full of colours

Smudged into numerous shapes

All I could see is hasty movements

Running straight without deviations

Sailing in vigor in the stream of time

Still the shore is just an imagination

You may say I am looking at the life

Sadly I say I couldn’t see any life…

Mauritius getaway Day-3 (Casela park)

Hey friends,

I am quite excited to share my Casela park experience with you. This was the best day among all days I spent in Mauritius. Casela, the world of adventures ( That is what it is known as) quite deserve its name. It is totally a world of adventures. It is a perfect spot for all age groups. I am sure no one will leave disappointed from this beautiful place.

You can enlarge to see what all they have to offer.

The park is spread over 14 hectares of land and offer so many activities including animal interaction programs, jungle safari, quad bike and much more. As all activities are scheduled at specific times, we have to choose accordingly what we want to do. img_3001

I started from Trou d’Eau Douce at 8:30 and reached Casela around 10. It was a 57 km drive. As I have already scheduled mountain adventures for the afternoon, morning I decided to go for jungle safari. The whole park was beautifully designed and maintained. The first sight as soon as I entered was a beautiful fish pond.

img_3062

When I walked further I came across peacocks and huge tortoises maintained in natural settings. The whole area is quite calm, neat and clean. I was lucky enough to come across a dancing peacock too on my way to bus stop for jungle safari.img_3295

The safari bus took me through that area of the park where animals are kept in their natural environment. Deer, Rhinos and ostriches were freely roaming around there. They were not scared to come near the bus too. I felt as if they were giving us a good view of them. It was a great experience for me as I have never seen an ostrich this close and not inside a cage.

The Safari bus took us next to tiger and lion zone. Tall observation points are built near the fence where we can get a good view of them. There were activities like walk with the lions which I couldn’t do as I have already scheduled that same time for mountain adventures.

img_3472

By the time I was done with jungle safari, It was almost afternoon. After lunch I went to the pick up point for mountain kingdom. I had already booked for Canyon swing, Nepalese bridge and Zip line. They provided me with the safety harness and helmet and took through a jungle to the platform for canyon swing. I was so excited when I saw the view. The platform was built on a mountain top, and the swing was  between two mountains with a stream flowing below. It was a breathtaking view and an adrenaline rush experience, jumping from top of a mountain and swinging to and fro on a rope above the stream.

Next was the Nepalese bridge. Narrow wooden planks arranged in a line connecting the two mountains, suspended high above tropical lush green forests, twisting and turning when you keep your foot on it. I felt as if I was walking in air. 350 m Nepalese bridge was quite a thrilling experience.

After this exhilarating air walk I have been taken for Zip line where I got a chance to enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of the environment. There was 5 Zip lines with 5 different views. Though zip lining was less thrilling as compared to the first two, the view was quite soothing and stunning.

The staff were sweet, pleasant and encouraging. Safety was taken utmost care along with that they created a pleasant and happy environment. They all became my good friends by the time I finished my activities.

img_6496

My pickup back from mountain kingdom was ready by the time I collected my photos. It was hard to say good bye to those amazing people I met and Casela park. It was totally an exciting day. I had my excitement and smile still on till I reached my hotel room.  A wonderful experience you should never miss if you are planning your vacation in Mauritius.

Twilight Glow…

Hey Friends,

This is my entry towards the Weekly Photo Challenge – Glow

img_6745

Waves kissed by rays of sun

covering their blushing face

Eager to hold him close

His touch is all she need

Dancing around in glee

winking at the jealous sand

Splashing loudly on rocks

That is  how I express myself

awaiting for that moment

when he dives into my arms

why they call it sunset

its moment of togetherness
